Jiri Gokyo Lake Cho-La Pass Trek

This trek commences overland to the road heading to Jiri (6 hrs). We follow the original route of the early expeditions through some truly beautiful alpine scenery. This region is relatively underdeveloped compared to the trail from Lukla onwards. The trek provides an insight into the many traditional aspects of the lives of the different ethnic groups of the area — Tamang, Kami, Brahmins, Kshetri & Sherpa. We enter to a Sagarmath National Park ” “ Sagarmatha is an exceptional area with dramatic mountains, glaciers and deep valleys. Dominated by Mount Everest the highest peak in the world. The park shelters several rare species, such as the snow leopard and the lesser panda. The presence of the Sherpa’s with their unique culture, adds further interest to this site.”

The attraction includes spectacular scenery and the out going Sherpa people of the Solukhumbu. The first part of the trek is not only a hard slog, but is also pretty spares in the breathtaking views. This trek cuts across the valley and starts in Nepal speaking Hindu lowlands and ends in the Tibetan Buddhist Highlands. This trek explores around the breathtaking Gokyo valley which is located adjacent of the Khumbu. Gokyo is a land of high altitude lakes.
